An adult baiji can grow to six feet long and can weigh around 180 pounds. According to the endangered species statistics from 2020 almost a third of the Red List species are at risk of extinction. Only 540 Amur tigers are left in the wild.
All sea turtles are threatened with extinction but the Hawksbill Sea Turtle is the closest to the brink followed by its cousin the Kemps ridley sea turtle. We lost a lot of species in 2019. Sudan the last remaining male northern white rhino died at the age of 45 in March 2018.
Those animals have gone. Only 60 years ago we could still find quolls around Melbourne. Around 60 of these tigers are now living in Chinese zoos.
Originally this species could be found in parts of China. They take to temperate forest in northeastern China and the Far East of Russia. Most notably Key deer found only in the Florida Keys were almost completely eradicated by the mid-1900s.
